In plain words
All these powers have come forth from Ādiśakti itself. Once you recognise this truth, the moon is not separate, the sun is not separate. In fact there is nothing inert at all; everything is the very form of Cit; everything is endowed with consciousness.
Feelings of difference are the marks of the ignorant
‘Candramā manaso jātaḥ’: the moon is the presiding deity of Manas. ‘Manayeva manuṣyāṇāṃ kāraṇaṃ bandhamokṣayoḥ’. The divine power in Manas is itself the root cause of all creation. As you sleep at night, there are dreams in which you are shut up in some prison and sleeping in harsh conditions. On waking, you find that you are lying on a bed of swan's down in your own mansion. Is that real? Is this real? As long as you are in the dream, that is what is real. Once it is over, this has become real. Our own Manas built that prison, these houses and mansions, and the occasions and events of joy and sorrow in our lives. There is nothing else. Manas is merged in every one of them. Merged everywhere, within us and outside, Manas is creating this visible world. If you regard even this power of Manas as that divine power, and honour it, it does not bind. It grants Vimukti. ‘Antarbahiśca tatsarvaṃ vyāpya nārāyaṇasthitaḥ’. For this, inner vision is most necessary. Man will travel tens of millions of miles into space, but he will not set out to travel half an inch into himself. The path of science sets out to travel into space by worshipping machines; the spiritual path travels into the depths of the heart by worshipping the mantra. Outward vision never reaches Satya. The atom is not Satya. Parāśakti alone is Satya. That is what is held; this is what holds it. Knowing this basis should be the one aim of the Sathya Sai Organisations. The mahāvākya ‘Brahma satyaṃ jaganmithya’ teaches just this as well. The saying ‘Sarvaṃ viṣṇumayaṃ jagat’ also recognises this very Satya. No power and no person comes into being on its own. Everything comes forth from Paramātma alone. To bring into practice the Advaita doctrine that “feelings of difference are the marks of the ignorant”, it is equal Prema for all people that is the chief sādhana. We have founded the Sathya Sai Organisations precisely to show that such sādhana is most necessary in spiritual organisations.
The Seva Samiti, the Mahila Vibhag, the Seva Dal, the Bhajan Mandali and Bal Vikas must all work together, helping one another with Prema like the fingers of one hand, to reach one single goal. Everyone needs to recognise the ties and links that join them to one another.
Here all of you can experience a little joy. That people of every country from all over the world have gathered in this auditorium makes it clear that when you make your Prema all-pervading, God too will appear before you in the form of the atom. What does it mean that God took on the cosmic form that is the universe? The whole universe is His own form. All the substances in the universe are within Him alone. It means that nothing at all is separate. The Sathya Sai Organisations were founded so that you would make this firm in your heart and spread Prema over all. This satsaṅga will give you the courage and daring to recognise that all-pervading power of Īśvara and to act by it.
