In plain words
We must practise such sacred tapas. For us there is no path more important than the feeling for the mother. This is Śānti. With such a spirit of Śānti, with truthful speech and the thought of God, to practise it, to experience it and to give it to society: that is our chief duty. Though a divine and sacred humanness has come to us, it is nothing but misfortune that we fail to understand it in the right way!
Yoga lies within renunciation
In today's state of things, where people waste away in unrest and collapse, all sādhus must take the vow, enter society, make sacrifices for the country and give divinity to the people in a fitting way. “Of all creatures, a human birth is hard to win”: having taken a human birth, we must accomplish this great task. The chief aim of this meeting is that this sacred work should begin. We must be ready to face many hardships, losses, sorrows, censures and reproaches. With courage and daring, building up faith in God, we must step into this work. We must keep all our ancient customs in view. We must also make some changes and additions to them according to the demands of place, time and circumstance. Within these three days we must find out, discuss and develop in many ways the points that give Sanātana Dharma its distinction. On the last day we must give it a fitting shape. We must not fix our sight on blind customs alone, just saying they are our ancient ways.
We must give the people the matter of the sacred texts, the Bhagavad Gītā, the Upaniṣads, the Brahma Sūtras and the rest, in the right way. In them lies an unbroken and supremely exalted spiritual principle. Today, for want of proper spreading and teaching, we are making such priceless and powerful truths somewhat weak.
