In plain words
Those who regard God as their wish-fulfilling tree meet no unrest and no adversity
But for want of the support this needs, many sādhus fall into despair and dejection. In truth, the strength of God alone is real strength. We must foster such faith in God and go out into society. Satya has no fear. Dharma has no destruction. Prema expects no return. We must go out into this world with a Prema that seeks no return, a Satya that knows no fear and a Dharma that knows no dismay. Only then can we win on every side. No obstacle of any kind will come in the way of this work. You must take such faith to be your very breath. We think that to be sannyāsīs is to be renouncers of all ties who have left everything behind. No, no. We must not shut society out. We must live in society itself. We must enter society itself. We must root out Ahaṅkāra. We must keep pride and the sense of ‘mine’ far away. We must join society. Sādhus cannot keep apart from society and stay alone, like a drop of water in oil. If we take part in good works alone, the help and cooperation we need will come of their own accord, to whatever extent. So we need not worry over the support we need. When God is our treasure and stays close beside us, why should we think needlessly about this support?
When there is the wish-granting cow that gives whatever fruit one desires, why pay money to buy a cow? When there is the wish-fulfilling tree that gives whatever fruit one asks, why the fondness for a tree in the backyard?
God is our wish-granting cow. We must make firm the faith that God is our wish-fulfilling tree. Those who have such faith will never meet unrest or adversity.
