In plain words
No one in the world meets the abuse, the praise and the scorn that Sai meets
Some bad always gets in the way of good. This is the mark of the natural world. It is its nature. It is the tree laden with fruit that is pelted with stones. Now and then I call everyone ‘Bangāru, Bangāru’. Bangāru is something very precious. But to be made into an ornament, it has to go through many hardships, losses and sorrows. Only after it has been put into the fire, struck with the hammer and made to bear many kinds of punishment does it become a fine ornament. Everyone is a precious being; everyone is a child of God! Just as the quality of fire is in every spark of fire, so the qualities of God are surely in all human beings, who are the children of God. So all human beings, the children of God, are embodiments of Saccidānanda! We must make that faith firm. There is not a single task that this firm faith cannot accomplish. Anything in the world can be achieved. I Myself am the proof of it. How many censures, how many reproaches, how many kinds of ridicule! However many obstacles of every kind came, I faced them, and since the work done with courage and daring is the very form of Satya, it is by accomplishing such things that I am able to stand here. No one in this world meets the abuse, the praise and the scorn that Sai meets.
Sādhana is to set mind, speech and body to sacred work
We need not think about what is not ours. However many ways anyone may point out faults that are not in us, we need not grieve over it. This is the nature of Prakṛti. As sunlight and shade go with each other, so abuse and praise are side by side, as a pair, one following the other. It is because there is sunlight that the shade forms beside it. Even in the shade there is sunlight. So we must keep equanimity in both. We must keep divinity as our goal.
