In plain words
From now on at least, everyone must make the effort to see that no such troubles and no such complaints arise.
The students of all three campuses came for these sports. But were any arrangements made for those who came? None at all. Sitting in the Mandir, I did everything. The skating is going on near the girls; where are we to come and sit? So I myself told Chiranjeevi Rao, had a shamiana brought and put up there, and told them to set out four chairs. What did the officers do in this matter? Truly this is wholly the officers' failing! The Vice-Chancellor must lighten his own work little by little, check every matter with care, hand each one his own responsibility, and himself keep free to look after everything. Only when that is done will this improve. If he keeps everything under his own control, no work gets done. The work that should go to the Registrar must be given to the Registrar. The work that should go to the Controller must be given to the Controller. The work that should go to the Treasurer must be given to the Treasurer. The work that should go to the Director must be given to the Director. What does the Director do there, poor man? Nothing; he is like dal without salt! From now on, a committee must be set up to see to these matters, a committee for each matter, and you must consult that committee and go on explaining things in every way, a little at a time.
In the same way some arrangements must be made in the hostel too. In every matter one must go in person and keep watching how the students are. But there too this śraddhā and devotion are not to be seen at all. There are even disciples there who pass their time nodding their heads, ‘Yes, yes,’ to everything the warden says. It is no use saying things that way. ‘Sir! This is wrong, this is not right, it must be done this way’: there is no one who can say that. Many students write letters and give them to Swami: “Swami! We will come to the Mandir and stay there. Things are not right for us in the hostel,” they write.
