Passage 6

In plain words

Many waves rise in the sea. No wave is like another. Among the waves, difference is seen. Though there are so many waves, they do not become separate from the water. There is no difference between the sea and the waves. Apart from the sea there are no waves. Without waves there is no sea. In just the same way, this universe is a great sea called saṃsāra. Each human being is a single wave. There is difference in form and name. The divinity in all is one and the same! That same Ātma principle is present as the water.

Born in the water, floating on that very water, the bubble of water merges back into the water. Man is the bubble, Nārāyaṇa the water. This is the plain truth I am telling you.

That is why God is everywhere. No caste, no colour, no region, you are also God. ‘Ekovasi sarvabhūtāntarātma.’ All religions accept this. All are brothers, all are one. Be alike to everyone. A feeling like this must arise. Only when this sense of equality comes will society be truly great. This is a flower. A flower is many petals come together. Without the flower there are no petals. The petals lend the flower its beauty. The flower gives the petals their support. Society too is like a flower. That is, every individual is just like a petal of society! Its support is the flower that is divinity. Without the individual there is no society. Without society the individual cannot live. To recognise the unity in the many: that is what society is. Samājamu is ‘sam’ and ‘ājamu’. ‘Sam’ means oneness. ‘Ājamu’ means strength. That is, society means moving forward as one. This is true society. But today, everyone is for himself! Stay together, and there is Mokṣa.
