In plain words

For those who trust in God there is no room for any suffering

The young people of today must strive to strengthen their power and their self-confidence. Whatever the hardships, whatever the losses, whatever the sorrows, they are only passing clouds! Not one thing in the world is permanent. There is only one, and that is divinity. We must foster in the mind the eternal principle of that divinity and live by it. That alone gives true Śānti. Relatives, friends, scriptures: none of them can give us such Ānanda. Here is a small example. Jain spoke just now. In truth, as for the state of things at their home, the boy could not say much, out of emotion. Within a single year he lost his mother and father. They are eight children in all. They are all little children. He is the eldest of them all. The rest are all small. How could anyone console them? That is possible only through divinity. On the second day itself I called them, and after I had talked with them all, a smile and joy showed on their faces. From that day to this, all of them have been immersed in the feeling of Sai as mother, Sai as father. No friend can do this. Friends and companions, gathering round, only add to the grief; they do not ease it. Only through right teachings do their hearts mature. From that day to this they have been living happily, without any suffering. So for those who have put their trust in divinity there is no room for suffering of any kind. Hardships and sufferings come like mountains and melt away like snow. We must make this faith firm. Not only that: Bhujang spoke too. ‘I want nothing, I don't want the business, I'll stop it altogether,’ he said. I told him, ‘No. Work with sincerity,’ I said. I said it would not do to stop. And because Bhujang put his faith so firmly in Svāmi's word, everything settled well. No one in this world who trusted has come to ruin, no one. There are those who failed to trust and came to ruin. Faith is the root of everything. Today people trust films, they trust newspapers, they trust novels, they trust plays, they trust the almanac, they trust everything.
