In plain words

Vidura, poor man, came running. He held Kṛṣṇa's feet. “Swāmī! You must not stay in this assembly any longer. Come, let us go,” he said. He Himself said, “Vidura! Do not be afraid. Let us see what they can do too,” and He stood there boldly. In that assembly Kṛṣṇa is speaking: “Whatever you meant to do to Kṛṣṇa, who has laid before you Satya as it is, do it without fail,” and throwing everything aside, He stood there. Everyone stood frozen where he was. In that assembly they rang out with “Victory to Kṛṣṇa Paramātma”. “Now they will never agree to this at all,” they thought. He said it there and came away.

To lay waste the green forest of the royal line he was born, as a wild fire, that king; the friendship of the charioteer's son joined it as the wind; that Śakuni stirred up the feuds; the flame has blazed up to the sky; from Bībhatsu's house the rain of arrows cannot now be avoided, for the peace of the world.

All of it is for the sake of Śānti. “Now I will go,” He said. The whole assembly shook. It fell silent. Duryodhana, Duḥśāsana, Karṇa, Śakuni, all of them lost their strength. They fell like living corpses. After a while they got up, telling one another their feelings. He came back to Arjuna. Arjuna bowed to Him.

Rise, Dhanañjaya! Fate is strong; justice will win; Satya will stand; self-interest will perish; this, always, is the way of the age; see now: at the very end, even for the father of a hundred sons there is no one to offer the piṇḍa, alas, when the stars go astray.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra has a hundred children. “In the very end there will not be even one to offer him the piṇḍa,” He said. Having made this vow, Kṛṣṇa came away.

Justice, Dharma, Prema: these brimmed over in Kṛṣṇa's very nature. When they would not yield even to this, there was nothing left but to make ready for war, surely! He tried telling them in so many ways. But for these wicked men, this mind is not the kind that melts. Because that is perverse understanding. The time of ruin. However much one says, even if God Himself comes and wipes it, it will not go. If you want to make coal white, will it become white if you wash it with milk? The milk too turns black. Will it become white if you scrub it with soap? The soap too turns black. If you want to make this coal white, what must you do? How did the coal come to be? When it was put in the fire, it became coal. Put that coal back in the fire. Burning and burning well, it turns into white ash. So if you try to wash it with milk or with soap, there is no use. So this wicked foursome is the same as coal.
