In plain words
He spoke so nicely with me!" And you set great value on all that talk.
When it comes to singing the Suprabhātam in the holy Brahma-muhūrta, there is a question: why must one sing the Suprabhātam? It is simply the karma of who knows how many births that these words should come! What is the Suprabhātam? It is simply waking the Divinity within oneself. It is simply waking the good within oneself. In the Brahma-muhūrta many good feelings come. Only lazy people have this kind of feeling. If humanness is to be woken, in that Brahma-muhūrta, from the holy navel, through this principle of the Praṇava, the Ātma-tattva awakens fully. Such a Brahma-muhūrta is very rare. In the Brahma-muhūrta we must wake the spirit that is within us. That word becomes fruitful. The feeling becomes fruitful. The heart becomes pure. Only then will those who work at daybreak be full of cheer. If they keep grumbling and grumbling, "We have had to get up for this Suprabhātam!", they will have to spend the whole day in tears. You know well how things are today. At home, the moment they get up, the parents quarrel. As the children get up, the parents are abusing each other. The children of parents who get up abusing each other get up fighting. You see! To parents who keep abusing each other, children who keep fighting are born. This is the inner meaning in it. In the Mahābhārata, Abhimanyu is in Subhadrā's womb. To soothe her, Arjuna is telling her about the Padmavyūha. As she listened and listened, she fell asleep. But the baby within kept saying "Mm, mm." At once Kṛṣṇa came. "Arjuna! You, to whom are you telling of the Padmavyūha? Are you telling Subhadrā? No, no; the baby within is listening. You must not tell it." He had told it as far as entering the Padmavyūha; when Kṛṣṇa came and stopped it, the way of coming out was not known. Abhimanyu went into the Padmavyūha but did not know how to come out. He died. Even the baby within is hearing these things. So the principle in our heart hears everything. That is what is called the Ātma-sākṣī. It keeps hearing everything. Yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati. Whatever the feeling with which we act, just such is the result we get. We must act with good feeling, with pure feeling. You have heard it in Sanskrit, "Yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati." The Chinese have lived this out. They are Communists. Think at the man so as the man. Even the Communists have accepted "yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati." So when we get up with good feelings, we spend a good day.
