In plain words
To whomever you bow, it reaches God alone. In just the same way, sarvajīva tiraskāraṃ keśavaṃ pratigacchati. Whomever we revile, it is the same as reviling God. We must hold on to these two.
That is why the chief principle of the Bhagavad Gītā can be told in just two sentences. What is it? Saṃśayātmā vinaśyate. We must drive doubt away. This is an eight-syllable mantra. Saṃ-śa-yā-tmā-vi-na-śyate. Eight syllables. This we must set firmly as a bank on one side. On the other side, śraddhāvān labhate jñānaṃ. This too has eight syllables. Śra-ddhā-vā-n-labha-te-jñā-nam. When we set these two firmly as banks, śraddhā on one side and freedom from doubt on the other, the stream called our life flows straight on and merges in the ocean called Grace. There is no need to doubt at all. Though such a divine, ever-new feeling is right beside us, in our own home, close to us, we are not able to understand it. Truly, humanness is something very sacred. Try to know its value. Selling such a thing, humanness that is like a ruby, for lumps of charcoal does no justice to humanness. Golden ones! We must win our life through Prema. We must grow a spirit of forbearance towards everyone. We must grow a feeling of brotherhood. Whatever troubles befall anyone, we must vow to serve them as far as we are able. This is the chief mark of Swami. I love. I tell everyone to love. That is My property. I have no other property. Prema alone is My great property. The great power I have is Prema alone. What kind of Prema? Selfless Prema. Till now, sixty-four years now, till now I have not asked a single person in any way. My hand has not gone like this. My hand always goes only like this. What I ask for is only one thing. Prema. Prema. What I want is one thing. If only that one thing, Prema, is there, the whole world is in one's grasp. Through Prema alone we reach the All. Without Prema, those living in one house become enemies. So when there is Prema, all countries too become one. Today we have won independence, but we have not won unity. What is the use without unity? Unity is the very foundation of life. It is only because unity is lost that life is broken to pieces. The state too is broken to pieces. Society is left without life. Today, nourishing society and holding society up, the individual in society must make divinity fruitful.
Truly, what is chief among the virtues is morality. Morality. Morality. That is the foundation of it. Without morality there is no use. We must not be a nation without morality. Humanness rests on morality.
