In plain words
Whoever's the religion may be, we must all regard it as one. All religions are one.
All the religions together have taught only good; know this and move with understanding. When minds are good, which religion is bad?
No religion is bad. It is our minds that are turning bad. Say it is the Christian religion, say it is the Muslim religion; let them go whatever way they like, we must respect our own religion. We need no hatred towards anyone else. If we look after our own and go our way, what have we to do with those outside? Instead, if one leaves one's own and rides over what is outside, no one at all will accept it. So first of all we must look to our own heart. Eat for your own hunger. If you eat for someone else's hunger, your hunger is not satisfied. If someone else takes medicine for your pains, your pain is not cured. That is what they called self realisation. One must know oneself. Who am I? A small example. You say: this is my body, my mind, my Buddhi, my citta, my senses, my antaḥkaraṇa; who am I? Is anyone thinking about this? You say "my body", but you do not say "the body is I", do you? If you think "this is my body", then I am one thing and the body another. This is my handkerchief. The handkerchief is one thing, I am another. This is my chair. The chair is one thing, I am another. In the same way, if you think "my body", the body is one thing and I am another. Who am I? No one is enquiring into this "Who am I?" So the mind, the Buddhi, the citta and the antaḥkaraṇa: all these are tools. You are the one in charge of all the instruments. You must be the one in charge. You must be the one in charge, not a slave. You must be master. When you follow the mind, you are ruined. Only when we follow the Buddhi do we fare well. The Buddhi has the power of enquiry. If we enquire into good and bad and then enter into it, we can understand humanness.
Embodiments of the divine Ātma! We must grow the principle of Prema. If Prema is to grow in us, we must enter society. We must do service. It is not going to a temple and praying to God. Nor is it merely bowing to elders, seeing them, touching them and coming back. God is in everyone. The body itself is a temple. All of you are gods. Everyone's heart is a shrine of God. You must hold that feeling. When you are like that, you will not enter into wicked deeds of any kind at all. You must grow that faith, golden ones. God is nothing apart. He is not far away somewhere.
