In plain words
Now and then our tongues keep slipping. For that slip they spoke of repentance and atonement. Then, "Ayyo! I have hurt them," if you repent like this wholeheartedly even once, it will surely become atonement for it.
These divine feelings must fill our humanness. That is the true worth. Some people have hunger and thirst, envy, jealousy, anger, burning, pomp; all these are found in beasts, birds and animals too. They are found in man too. No. No: in humanness there must come something special, a Buddhi offered to God. Whatever you do, you must believe it to be God's work. Sarva karma bhagavat prītyartham. Only when you act with that feeling will your body, Manas, Buddhi, citta, senses and antaḥkaraṇa all become pure. What does Mokṣa mean? It is nothing but purity of citta. If the heart is pure, everything looks like Ānanda in every way. Ānanda itself is the goal.
The bliss of Brahman, the giver of supreme happiness, wisdom alone in form, beyond the pairs of opposites, like the sky, the aim of "Tat tvam asi" and the like; one, eternal, stainless, unmoving, witness of every mind, beyond all feeling, free of the three guṇas.
So they said. If we go on describing this kind of principle, there is complete Ānanda. Through it purity comes about. Slow and steady wins the race. life race not horse race. If you forget God, we have no support at all any more. Hero becomes zero if one forgets God. You must not forget God. It is God alone who blesses in every way. It is God alone who has granted the ideals, the joys and the comforts it takes to live in this world. If you forget such a God, you must not become a cruel man without gratitude.
gratitude. First of all there must be gratitude. In any situation whatever, we must show fitting gratitude for the Ānanda that was given. Try to live keeping that gratitude in your heart. This becomes the step to the growth that befits humanness. First of all, give your parents the gratitude due to them. Because your body, blood, food, head, money: all these are your parents' gift. First of all you must show gratitude to your parents. Only then will your children in turn give you gratitude. He who dishonours his parents today will receive dishonour from his children tomorrow. If today you try to cheat your friend, tomorrow your friend will cheat you. Reaction, reflection, resound cannot be escaped. So do good, see good, experience good, live in goodness. Hoping that the students and those who have gathered here will develop the divine principle with holy feelings, make their lives worthwhile and hold out an ideal life to others, and blessing them, I bring My discourse to a close.
