Passage 11

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

So we must not give the name of freedom to what lies inside these bounds. It may be called a rule. Today we are unable to know rightly the meaning of words. If we truly knew the right meaning of what is called the heart, it is not something to be put within some limit or other. The heart that is in you is the same heart that is in the man in front of you. Even in your sight there is this same heart. In all there is one and the same heart. When there is one heart in all, the feelings of all should come as one, should they not? These feelings are creations of Manas.

Students! These bodies, these feelings, these actions, all of them come from Manas; they do not come from the heart. When we say heart, there is one physical heart; there is one spiritual heart. This heart, when we say it, has nothing to do with the physical heart. This is the spiritual heart, which is everywhere. It has no form, but all forms are itself. It is one in everything. In what way? We made a sugar syrup and, with that sugar syrup, printed it in all shapes: elephant, dog, fox, tiger, horse. All the little children come: I want a dog, I want a fox, I want a tiger, I want an elephant; each one takes one and eats it. But in those children's eyes they appear only as animals of a kind; in the sugar there is no animal form at all. He said, "This is an elephant." He said, "This is a deer." He said, "This is a tiger, this is a lion." These are only fancies of their sight. In the sugar there is no difference at all. That is the heart. All these differences are only reflections of your own mind. If you hate someone, that is only your own reflection. If you love someone, that is only your reflection. If you mock someone, that is only your reflection. So your reaction, rebound and reflection appear to us in this world as svarūpa and svabhāva. So, if we give up this reaction, reflection and rebound and hold on to the heart that is Reality, these differences will not arise at all. God has no differences at all. But according to the person's actions, according to the person's worship, according to the person's feelings, according to the person's prayers, He keeps acting a part to suit it. God has no anger, no liking, no dislike.
