In plain words
According to time, everything keeps coming into being; comings and goings, according to time, come also to wealth and to want; if you look, time above all is the cause for all living beings; there is nothing on earth that time does not bring under it.
In the world many terrible deeds come about; we must look for the cause: because selfless service has dwindled and senseless desires have grown great.
Embodiments of Prema!
Time is endless. It is beyond all measure. It is beyond the reach of the senses. Time yields to no one. Everything must follow time; time follows no one. Time is the very form of God. That is why God has the name Kālasvarūpāya. This time itself is the very form of the Ātma. The Ātma is the chief seat of time. So God has another name, Kālātmakāya. Because the whole world of the moving and the unmoving is contained in God Himself, God has another name, Kālagarbhāya. So for humanness time is of the greatest importance. The purpose of the body is that we use time well, live through time in the right way, and do the karma that makes the body fruitful. God has another name, Saṃvatsarāya namaḥ. Saṃvatsara has another meaning: He who, taking account of His devotee's state and circumstances, gives him peace and happiness. He has another name, Dhīratvāya namaḥ. That is, it means the One who, with no weakness of any kind in anything, makes everything fruitful by the fulfilment of His will. 'Mēdhāya namaḥ' does not mean one who recognises worldly cleverness or the nature of the mind. 'Mēdhāya namaḥ' means the One who protects those who turn the intelligence and skill they have upon others and take part in work that labours for their sake.
Because He is the beginning of the Kṛta, Trētā, Dvāpara and Kali yugas, God is called 'Ugādi'; He is not the beginning of the yugas alone.
