In plain words
The magnet of Prema at Praśānti:
Today, for a man to eat food, there must be hunger. To drink water, he must feel thirst. To experience joy, some kind of happiness must arise in him. In the same way, in this world no effect is to be seen without a cause. Today so many lakhs of people have come in here: what is the reason for it? You have gathered here only with the thought that something is here other than what is in you, in your body or in the region near you. If what you looked for were in you yourselves, in your own country, in your own town, you would not need to come here. Here there is a divine Prema. This magnet called Prema keeps drawing these pieces of iron, the restless beings. Not a single invitation was sent out. No one was sent a call to come. Yet this draws everyone here through Ānanda alone, the Ānanda that belongs to Prema and to the heart. Purity alone is the root cause of all this.
Purity is yoga:
Where there is purity, there Prema arises. Only by the joining of the two, Prema and purity, is Ānanda gained. However many yogas we practise, there is no use. However many yāgas we perform, there is no use. In yoga, people practise certain kinds of breathing in and breathing out. They keep developing the kuṇḍalinī power. But this is only a physical activity. They think that taking in the air is pūraka, letting the air out is recaka, and holding it still is kumbhaka. That is not the true power of yoga. Taking in the good is itself pūraka. Letting go of the bad is itself recaka. Holding the good in our heart is itself kumbhaka. Everyone is indeed fit for this yoga. Every man must practise this divine yoga. That alone is the mark of a true Bhāratīya. Bhāratīya, quite simply, is a name that holds good for every person too.
The power of a pure saṅkalpa in Puttaparthi:
Above all, this village of Puttaparthi is a tiny hamlet. Each of you may ponder for yourself why this village has risen to such a height. Do not think of it as a lucky conjunction, or as good fortune, or as luck.
