In plain words
It is simply the fruition of a man's saṅkalpa. Only a pure saṅkalpa brings about what is pure. It is with this in view that Vedānta declared, 'Yadbhāvaṃ tadbhavati.' So every man, too, must foster good feeling. He becomes one fit to attain the right position. Embodiments of Prema, though there are no proper lodgings for you in this Praśānti Nilayam, and though wealthy people who enjoy so many comforts have come, a yoga has come about: a fitting way to adjust in every way and live here. We must regard this as a sādhana.
From comfort, tamas. Tapas does not grow:
Where every comfort is, there can be no sādhana. Happiness comes to us out of these very hardships. Without hardship we gain no fruit. We must turn these hardships into a tapas. In comfort tamas grows, but tapas does not. So, when you bear so many hardships and so many lakhs of people fit into this place, this itself is a fitting sign of oneness. But for everything, human effort is essential. Without human effort we cannot accomplish even the smallest task.
Jogarao, the karma-yogi:
The man who, for twenty years, has provided fitting facilities for the thousands of devotees who come, borne hardships of many kinds, and changed the very form and name of Praśānti Nilayam, is Jogarao. For twenty years he has been in the Sathya Sai Central Trust and, bearing hardships night and day in every way, has laboured as was needed for its growth. He is a karma-yogi. In karma alone he finds great joy. Above all, the toil he has gone through over these arrangements, this one year too, no one knows but Me alone. He is not Colonel Jogarao. Karma Jogi, I call him. I call him a karma-yogi. This Jogarao has had no sleep at night for a month. He is eighty-two years old. Only because he has toiled like this at eighty-two have the devotees today been blessed with so many facilities; so all of them, on behalf of the Central trust, sought to offer this Jogarao a salutation. We should not think of this Jogarao as merely an outsider.
