Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

It is like this: when you fire a gun, the report and the strike, both happen at once. So it is not within everyone's reach to understand Sai's saṅkalpa. Embodiments of Prema! You should not think that I am saying this as an exaggeration. In not a single corner of Me is there anything called selfishness. Whatever I do, I do it on behalf of others. I do not think of you as others. All are Mine, Mine alone. Such breadth of feeling is not to be found anywhere in the world, wherever you look. Have you seen anywhere an organisation that has made such progress within just fifty years! In every Avatāra, whichever it was, progress went on taking place after the Avatāra had ended.

For every good work done from the heart, help indeed:

Within one lifetime itself, establishing so many things, a university, a Hospital, an airport, and giving the village people proper facilities: not only this, you will see still more in the days ahead. Many people have doubts about how such a thing is happening. This sixty-fifth year has begun. Until now, never and nowhere have I held out My hand like this to anyone. I have not asked anyone. I have not asked. I do not ask. I have not asked. I shall not ask. How is it happening? In Bhārata there is no obstacle at all to good work. If you resolve from the heart to do good, a rain of gold pours down. For those who enter into action with narrow feelings, however much they do, none of it brings them any satisfaction at all. A broad heart. How can a narrow heart understand so broad a heart?

Foster unity and Ānanda in the principle of Prema.

Embodiments of the divine Ātma! I am not looking to you for anything. I am not asking. Only foster the principle of Prema. Regard all mankind with a feeling of brotherhood. Believe that all are children of God. Do not let hatred or envy grow toward anyone. Do not hurt anyone's heart. That breadth of feeling alone brings a vast Ānanda into our lives. If we are celebrating this Swami's birthday, the one thing you must offer Me is this alone: all of you, live in unity; develop again the ancient tradition of Bhārata. As I was coming here, many people said, 'Happy Birth Day, Happy Birth Day.'
