Before we can separate that shell, we must separate the feeling of Prakṛti made of the three guṇas. We must take up what is called Vairāgya. Vairāgya does not mean giving up everything and running off to the forest. To hold the feeling of God in everything is Vairāgya.
We and he become the same
Good feelings are most necessary for man. He must root out the faults that are in him. We must develop the feeling of the Ātma, which is divinity. We should not hate anyone. Love even the one who hates you. If you think, “He hated me; he is a bad man, he is a bad man,” and you hate him too, you become a bad man along with him; how will you become a good man? If we too act with the same bad feeling with which a person acts, we and he become the same. Keep your distance from such a man. You need not hate him. The chief divine principle in the culture of Bhārata is this: it is said, “To recognise the unity in the many is the principle of the Ātma.” Only when we take this unity in the many as our humanness does it appear before us as divinity. Though from ancient times we have been experiencing and observing the festival days of Bhārata in many ways, the feelings within us stay just where they were and are not purified at all.
By the feeling of God, everything can be achieved
The name of this year is Prajotpatti. Prajotpatti means the producing of people. There is no obstacle to that. The increase goes on and on. There is no need for a Prajotpatti to come. It is also called Prajāpati. Prajāpati means the form of Brahmā. Prajāpati is the name of this year. It is the form of Brahmā. The name is good, but there are no results to match the name. What use is it to rejoice at seeing the name of this year? One man's name is “Dharmarāju”, and he is all adharma. Another has named himself “Saundaryarājan”. He is the very form of ugliness. In just the same way, how great a difference is seen between the name, the form and the conduct! The name Prajāpati is a very good one.
But within this year very terrible things will happen. The trouble from thieves will grow. Disturbances in nature will keep changing in many ways. Good will turn into bad. There will be no limit at all to political turmoil. Drastic changes will take place. Fires and earthquakes will be very many in this year. But we need not be afraid at all on account of these changes. These are only the ways of nature. There is nothing contrary in them.
