Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

There would be no wife and husband. There would be no kinsmen and friends. There would be no world of things. There would be no God. Prema is God, God is Prema. 'love is God, live in love'. So we must try to recognise that principle of Prema well.

What dwells in all beings is the one Ātma alone! When we follow the feeling that the Ātma is one, we live a divine life. You may fit as many bulbs as you like. The bulbs may differ in many colours. They may differ greatly in voltage too. But the current is one! Every jīva, every body, is like a bulb. Each may appear different, with its own name and form. The divinity in all is one, only one!

To journey from humanness to divinity, we must foster human values

Embodiments of Prema! Do not hate one another. “Sarvajīva tiraskāraṃ Keśavaṃ pratigacchati.” Whoever we hate, we become people who hate our own chosen God. So foster the principle of Prema. Develop your humanness. That is the true goal of life. Man must be an example. The proper study of mankind is man. What is this proper study? The thought in the mind, the word in the speech and the action in the deed: the three must become one. Today the resolve in the mind is one thing, the word in the speech another, and the action in the deed another. ‘Manasyanyat, vacasyanyat, karmaṇyanyat durātmanam.’ ‘Manasyekam, vacasyekam, karmaṇyekam mahātmanam.’ Every man is an embodiment of the divine! To journey from humanness to divinity, we must foster human values. In daily life there are three things an ordinary man experiences. Love of God, fear of sin, and the morality of society. Today there is no fear of sin at all. So man is living just like a demon. There is no love of God. He loves the world created by God's will, but he does not love God.
