In plain words
But this Ugādi is not connected with the principle of any Avatāra, nor with the birthday of any great soul, nor with the death of any wicked one, nor with the death-day of any good person. It is connected with Prakṛti. It is most needful for everyone. It is a fine ideal for recognising the principle of Prakṛti. Prakṛti itself is God for us. This is God before our very eyes. In a single hour this earth turns many thousands of miles about itself. By turning in this way, what comes about? Night and day come about. Because night and day come about, man is able to rest. Not only that, this earth also travels many thousands of miles round the sun. By going round the sun in this way, the seasons come about. Because the seasons change, rains fall, crops grow and man gets food. In this way, expecting no results, Prakṛti has been uplifting man.
Man must first know what his goal is
The years are sixty. From Prabhava to Akṣaya, sixty years. The year called Aṅgīrasa comes as the sixth. Aṅgīrasa keeps bringing the chief principle of the six enemies. In all the limbs in this body, the six enemies alone dwell. Desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride and envy. This year stands in balance with whatever gives the six enemies their strongest support. In it are the nine lords, the planets. They themselves are the governing principles. Of these nine lords, six bring good. Only three stand against it. In the world this year, good things for the most part will happen. Besides, this year there is no lack of milk and crops. The rains will fall in their due order. But prices, for their part, will rise. That is a weakness in the strength and ability of the people and of the government!
