In plain words

His name was Hemadpant. He is the one who wrote the Sai Charitra. He prayed earnestly. ‘Where were You born? Who are Your parents? What is Your name?’ he kept on asking Bābā, question after question. Bābā told these things to no one. But once, at a time when Mahalsāpati was serving Him alone, He told Mahalsāpati, and him only, the date of His birth. In truth Mahalsāpati was no scholar, poor man! He was one who had learnt a few mantras, only enough to do some pūjās. He wrote down what Bābā had told him on a small piece of paper and kept it. That fell into Hemadpant's hands. Taking it, he went on writing Bābā's life step by step. Beyond this, no one knows much of Bābā's principle. The world has known of Bābā only from His sixteenth year. Bābā was born on 27 September and left the body on the day of Vijayadaśamī. That is, He was born in 1838 and left the body in 1918. But in between He gave many kinds of sacred teachings, showed His power and ability to the people, and came to be worshipped by all as Divinity. Dādā, Nānā, Dāmai, Abdul Bābā, Chandorkar, Mahalsāpati: all these were always around Bābā. Until recent times Abdul Bābā was still there. He was a great devotee, bless him! What does it matter what religion one is? In Bhakti all are equal! Then there was Kākā Dīkṣit; he was a judge. That Dīkṣit's son himself came to our Brindavan and lived there twenty years. His wife too is living now in Brindavan itself. So everything is in the diary he kept. Kākā Dīkṣit also wrote down that Bābā would be born again in such and such a year, in such and such a place.

Divinity is not something that can be tied to this or that. The Ātma's one relation is the Ātma. But many people, under the sway of this Kali Yuga, see Divinity as bound to a body and fall prey to many kinds of misconception. The reason for this is nothing but the growth of worldly feelings! What are worldly feelings?
