In plain words
In the same way, only when teachers fulfil their duty well does the excellence of the students increase. Only when students fulfil their duty does the worth of the teachers increase. Today in the world people are forgetting this bond of duty. The whole world is one form of limbs and members bound to one another. Only when we fulfil our duty properly do we gain the right to receive the fruits. ‘Karmaṇyeva adhikārasya mā phaleṣu kadācana’: when we carry out well the karma that is our right, the fruit comes to us of its own accord. One who hopes for the fruit without doing his karma can be called only a fool. Today duty itself is our true right! To forget this duty is a great wrong.
Spirituality alone brings the welfare of mankind!
Students! Problems worth pondering, problems that plunge every man into confusion, have grown thick and fast in the field of education today. This system of education lends still more support to the simple soul who cannot recognise the excellence in humanness. The educational institutions, which ought to hand the citizens of the country the responsibility of running every field of life soundly and usefully, are today entering a crooked path. The human qualities of sacrifice, character, morality and honesty have sunk out of sight today. Honour and dignity have gone up in smoke. What we need today is no new education, no new society, no new religion. Today people spin many fancies about founding a new society, an equal society. All these are only acts that while away the time; they are not the true form of things. Men and women of noble mind and intellect are the urgent need of today. Only when there are such noble men and women will the kingdom be a kingdom of welfare.
