In plain words
On the path of our mind, where the clouds have gathered, ask Him to set the radiance of the sun that is Kṛṣṇa!
They told him to light the lamp called ‘Kṛṣṇa’ on the path of their mind, where the clouds had gathered. Each one made her own plea, like this:
The garland of my life's flowers, scattered apart, ask Him to string together beautifully and wear it! The trees of our lives, dried up by the heat, ask Him to make them put out new shoots!
“The whole tree of our life has dried up and withered to the core. What is the reason? It is only because we lack the compassion of God! It is only because we lack the presence of God! It is only because we have lost our treasure! All of it has dried up, our life. Through seeing Him, touching Him and speaking with Him, the tree of our life must put out new shoots.” How should human life be? Life in the world is needed, yes! But along with it, one must also take up the life of the spirit. The Gopīs and the cowherd boys of those days kept asking Kṛṣṇa for just this. “Kṛṣṇa, we cannot be without You. We cannot live forgetting Your Name. So whatever form You take, whatever name You bear, grant us a form bound up with it,” they asked.
If You grow and flourish as a tree, I shall twine about You as a creeper; if You are the great ocean, becoming a river I shall merge into You; Kṛṣṇa, if You are the endless sky, as a little star I shall shine in You; if You are Mount Mēru, spreading out I shall flow as a mountain stream.
