Passage 8

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Between You and us there must be no separation at all. That separation is the root cause of worldly desires. It is because we forget God that we experience the body. Through attachment to the body we get joys and sorrows. For all joys and sorrows, the body is the root cause. Such a body must be set on the sacred path. So, along with studies, one must also take up saṃskāra to some extent. However much one studies, a man's life goes with him and does not stay on in the world at all. Worldly studies serve only for a living; they are of no use for the supreme goal of life. All those who studied: what happiness did they gain? Earning money while life lasts, enjoying the pleasures of the body, and ending life in all kinds of conduct. The end is certain for everyone; it is natural. Within that end, one must attain joy.

God never forgets His devotee

Today people think, ‘God has forgotten, God has abandoned.’ But it is not that God forgets. It is not that God abandons. It is the devotees who abandon. God never forgets His devotees, devotee forgets God. God is never away from you; people think God goes far away: no, no. God is always there. You forget, and you think that God has forgotten. What you have eaten comes back to you as a belch. Whatever evil feelings come up in you, they are your own and not those of people outside. In education, one must try to recognise this truth well. Today, in the world, what kind of plight are people falling into through this education? Whatever meeting is held, all that happens is that people criticise one another. Whatever gatherings take place, these people criticise those and those criticise these, in base words. When you truly think it over and inquire, the one who criticises is simply a fool.
