Passage 13

In plain words

That is why all of you must be well. I too must be well. Let anyone go any way at all: if you say, I alone must be well, that will not do. This is selfishness. This selfishness is a great sin. Selfishness there must be, to some degree. But there must be no selfishness beyond limits. We must develop Prema for God. There is no other sādhana that surpasses Prema for God. Whatever you do or do not do in this world, if you love God with your whole mind and from your heart, there is no other sādhana greater than that.

Mīrā's husband told her to go away. Mīrā said, ‘Alas! How can I go, leaving my Kṛṣṇa?’ At once she changed her mind. This is a temple built by man. This temple is not lasting. But the temple built by God is my heart. She said, ‘Chalo re man, chalo re man Gaṅgā Yamunā tīr.’ The bank of the Gaṅgā and the Yamunā is the place between the brows. Go there, O mind! Wherever you go, there is no Śānti. Gaṅgā and Yamunā. Gaṅgā is good deeds, Yamunā good conduct. The place where these two meet is the place between the brows. That is the suṣumnā nāḍī. How are these two? On one side the Gaṅgā, on the other the Yamunā. The breath in and the breath out. So… ham.
