Embodiments of Prema!

Each and every person who longs for victory in the field of the spirit must develop the triad of character. The first is purity. The second is patience. The third is perseverance. These are the triad of character, the triad of P's. 1st P: purity. 2nd P: patience. 3rd P: perseverance. Whatever man develops this triad of character, the life of that man becomes blessed.

A son without virtue, learning without an aim, a people without morals are fruitless. A being without Śānti is a night without the moon, be sure of it. Listen, O valiant son of Bhārata!

Above all, human life is made up of three qualities. Whoever loses these very qualities becomes one who has lost humanness itself. Truly, because today's man himself lacks human values, birds, beasts, animals and the like appear better than man. He is taking shape as a man in form, but he is not taking shape as a man in conduct. Qualities alone are the strength of life. A life without character is nothing but a lifeless life. Among human values, character itself is the chief strength.

In today's students and in the young alike, we must take character as the chief mark. However rich he may be, however strong, whatever authority he may hold, if this very quality is lacking, his position, his wealth, his strength, his learning, all of it is useless. So when we wish to bring humanness to light, character is essential above all. This itself is the chief human quality. Only because education has not been shaped and set right today, morally, in Dharma and spiritually, have all of today's studies fallen into this sorry state.
