In plain words
That is not good. We are all human beings, after all. We must respect all, we must love all. Only then do you become fit for the Prema of the Paramātma, who is the Inner Ātma of all beings. When they see living beings, it is to torment them; when they see God, it is to worship. What worship is this? Working bullocks work night and day. They take a stick in hand and beat them. When they see a stone Nandi, they walk round it and bow down to it.
Always tormenting someone! This is not good. You have been staying in the ashram for so many days. An āśrama is that which is without śrama. All the devotees grieve a great deal: "If Swami calls us for an interview, we can be happy at least for a little while in that interview room; outside, everywhere, they drive us off like dogs." But how many people can I, for My part, give an interview to? This is the big interview. I am giving an equal interview to all. Grow Prema. Each one must speak with Prema. You must answer with Prema. Say what you know as you know it. Otherwise say, "I do not know, sir; forgive me." Cut down your words. Only then will the animal traits in you go far away. Keeping these beastly traits in us, how is it possible to behave like a human being? We must drive that out first of all. Love. Love. Love all. This is the true sāttvika. All of life is rājasika. The rājasika is demonic; this is not good. We are human beings. I am not a beast. I am not a demon, I am not a wicked man; I am a human being. Man himself turns into God. Today they live without the least compassion and Prema. Nobody has answers to anybody's questions of any kind. From today give a good answer. Look after the patients who come, with Prema. Inquire into their condition and give them their medicines properly. Whatever the working of Kali may be, cruelty has grown far greater in these educated people. What is the reason for this? Education is turning them into beasts. It is the unlettered village folk who live with great humility and obedience. Culture is in them alone. Today there is no culture at all in the educated. There are quarrels. We must drive such things far from them. Bhakti does not mean singing bhajans; you must grow Prema for God.
