Passage 10

In plain words

Do not lead Satya and Prema on to a wrong path. Because your selfishness and self-interest join in, even Satya is changing. In those days the atmosphere was very sacred, so Satya-Hariścandra kept winning victory. No one could change him. Today in the Kali Age, if that very Hariścandra were here, they would make even him tell Asatya. So great is the power of Kali. So many people take a vow to speak Satya. But the moment it comes out, it turns into Asatya. We must not give in at all to this power of Kali. In our very Ānanda we must make Satya well up. Even if you do no sādhanas, never mind. Develop Satya and Prema. Where Satya is, there is no violence. Where Prema is, there is no violence. Where Dharma is, there is no violence. Where Śānti is, there is no violence. Where these, Satya, Dharma, Śānti, Prema and Ahiṃsā, are, Ahiṃsā appears in full. Today, because they are absent, the world is filled with violence. Violence in the home, violence outside, violence in the bazaar, violence in the train; wherever you look, there is only violence. 'Fear, fear, life is fear, brother; life itself is the trap the world has laid': this is the padmavyūha. Fear in the padmavyūha. It is all fear. Even if you stay at home without going anywhere, there is fear. Even if you think of going out on foot, there is fear. Where is there no fear? Only with God is there fearlessness. With God there is no room at all for fear. First of all we must install God in our heart. Our heart is a step given for installing God; it was not given merely for living. God is the dweller in the heart.

Students! In whatever circumstances you are, speak Satya. In the beginning it will be a little hard. I am saying it truly: speaking Satya is the easy thing. There is no effort at all in speaking Satya. To tell Asatya, you have to lay many plans. You have to do a lot of thinking. How much effort Asatya takes! Why do you take so much trouble and take part in Asatya? Take part in Satya, with ease. How easy it is to say what is as it is! Why speak Asatya about what the eye sees? Why a mirror for the bangle on your wrist? You can see your bangle easily. But you cannot see your eyes. They spoke of the third eye. That is the eye of Prema. When this eye of Prema is there in Satya and Dharma, we can see everything.
