We must join with everyone. We must foster unity. We must not catch the contagion called ‘I and my family’. Everyone must be there. If students today foster such feelings, they will become the uplifters of Bhārata to come. You must become ideal figures who sustain this Satya and Dharma that arose in the land of Bhārata from ancient times.
Students! You are the uplifters of Bhārata to come. You are the future leaders and pleaders. Take up Satya. In pleadership you must not take the wrong path. What is leadership like today? Even if Hariścandra himself came, the leader would make him tell lies. This is the sway of today's Kali. That is why there are no Hariścandras today. For fear of this the Hariścandras have fled to the hills. Satya has run away. All that is left is Asatya. Dharma has run away. All that is left is Adharma. We must purify this today. How are we to do it? We must practise. It is not a matter of saying it with the mouth. We must bring it into practice. What is in the heart into the word, what is in the word into the deed: so we must practise. Only when you keep Satya and Dharma on the right path do you become vidyārthīs; otherwise you turn into viṣayārthīs.
It looks after them in an exemplary way and with affection, more than brothers would, makes their Prema boundless and takes away the sorrow in them. It is not a matter of merely calling it our Institute. In truth it goes on every day. In other Institutes we keep seeing donations from the rich and the like. But in our Institute Prema alone is the fee. To such people I always give encouragement. You heard. The second student spoke in Sanskrit. That boy has no other support. The grandmother and grandfather, the two of them, are bringing him up. He has none of that from parents. Such children are cared for here and developed in every way, and that boy spoke in Sanskrit: think how much sorrow he must have forgotten! Making such sorrow forgotten, increasing joy and filling the want of parents: that is Sai's chief resolve. That is what I am doing. I am asking you to do it. You too, in just the same way, if you come across anyone like this, must make the effort to give them the help they need and raise them to a high standing. You see it outside. Engineering and medical colleges. Great hells. Newcomers who join cannot stay more than a week.
