In plain words
It is in no one's power to escape this. We must keep this gratitude safe in our hearts and set an example worthy of it.
Without the strength of God, all other strengths are useless
They are developing their intelligence, but character is nowhere to be seen in the students of today. ‘A hero in studies, a zero in character.’ In ‘O’ grade study they get a hundred marks out of a hundred. In character they do not get even one mark out of a hundred. 3/4 character is life. Education without character is useless. So we must first of all acquire good qualities. You may be a very rich man. You may be a man of great intellect. You may be a high official. You may be a man of great strength. You may gain the strength of numbers, the strength of intellect, the strength of wealth, every strength there is. But if the strength of God is lacking, you all know, in the Mahābhārata,
Great strength of arm and strength of mind he had, yet without the strength of God he became wretched; one as great as Karṇa, what became of him in the end? Listen, O heroic son of Bhārata.
Long ago a Muslim emperor heard of the sacredness of the story of the Mahābhārata. He recognised the truth that in the Mahābhārata the five Pāṇḍavas were men of great virtue, ideal men. Intending to make those virtues fit himself, he sent for the Aṣṭadiggajas. They all went. He called the Aṣṭadiggajas, Nannaya, Tikkana, Errāpragaḍa, Mallanna, Sūranna, Rāmarājabhūṣaṇa, Tenāli Rāmakṛṣṇa and the rest, and held a great assembly. He said, ‘O great scholars! I shall give you a great reward.
