In plain words
Human values are vanishing because man lets animal qualities into himself
Truly, in young men and young women, the eight kinds of pride that make them forget their humanity, the six inner enemies, tamo-guṇa and rajo-guṇa all come together and take shape as sixteen kalās. All the young men of today are full of these sixteen kalās. Pride of wealth, pride of virtue, strength of arm, strength of intellect, strength of riches, strength of learning, strength of caste and all the rest: none of these is strength. Today the sacred, divine sixteen kalās that should be in man are being covered over. God is full and perfect in the sixteen kalās. The eight kinds of pride and the six inner enemies: these are not the sixteen kalās. On the day the student puts these far from himself, on that very day he shines with the sixteen kalās that belong to God. Desire, anger, greed, moha, pride and envy are not man's chief qualities. These are merely the marks of wild beasts. The marks of animals. Man's marks, man's qualities, man's values are Satya, Dharma, Śānti, Prema, forbearance and sympathy. Because the man of today has taken animal qualities into himself, human values are vanishing. So we must try to bring human values up in today's system of education. Youth is something that passes away midway. It is like the passing clouds. For the sake of this momentary youth, how they are ruining the infinite Divinity! So every young man must develop divine feelings. Wealth merely comes and goes.
Though one boasts grandly of having wealth, there is not a grain of Śānti on the earth; though one swaggers at having learning, there is not a grain of Śānti on the earth.
