"Five husbands for Pāñcālī!" No, no: she had mastered the five elements. They are sound, touch, form, taste, smell and the rest. They are the five prāṇas. She is the wife of these five prāṇas. These five prāṇas became husbands to her. No one can rightly understand the wonders of history. In history there is a great deal to teach about Dharma. We must put it into practice wholeheartedly. We must offer wholeheartedly. If someone comes and begs for alms, it is not enough to say, "A beggar has come," and toss him a little. "Alas, just as my hunger is, so is his hunger too. Let me give him some of what I have cooked for myself." Serve him with love. Your hand that grants freedom from fear will grow ever so much. When Draupadī gave Kṛṣṇa a small curry leaf, everything became inexhaustible. The thousands of disciples Durvāsa had brought had their bellies filled. There are many powers in man. These powers cannot be described as this kind or that kind. If you stretch out your hand, in a minute everything comes to you. How must you stretch out your hand? You must stretch out your hand with the feeling of offering to God. You must not stretch out your hand in your own delusion. When you do it with the feeling of offering to God, it will surely come to you. Do try it, without fail. If, keeping selfishness within, you preach the good of others and keep wishing useless wishes, they will never be fulfilled. Even what you have gained will come to nothing. So what must we recognise today? Everything must be offered to God. This is the very reason the Veda teaches that all karma is for the pleasure of God. Do not live with desires. The body too is God's gift. Life is God's gift, so everything is an offering to God. Do your own work. Go to the office. Do your office work. Go to business; do business. You need not give up anything. All these are God's work. Do not divide it there: "This is my work, this is your work." By joining this business they become share holders. God is never a share holder at all. You are the shareholder. Your own delusion makes it look that way to you. God needs no one's share. All are His shares. All things are His shares. Just as blood corpuscles are in His body, so everyone is in Him as blood corpuscles.
