In plain words
We need not search for an age. We need not scramble after time. We need not search for karmas. At any time, anywhere at all, we must stand ready in the constant contemplation of God. If there is no contemplation of God at all, how will God show us grace?
There are two kinds of sādhana. The master is upstairs. By the wall there is a big Alsatian dog. But if we want to go in, either we must bring the Alsatian dog under our control, or we must call out loudly to the master. If we do not do that, we cannot meet the master. So what is this Alsatian dog? It is Māyā itself. Either we must bring this Māyā under our control, or we must chant the Name of God loudly. If we chant God's Name loudly, God on the upper level comes down. Together with God, we enter that house with ease. Then the dog too does nothing. Māyā too does nothing. So if we want to reach God, and ask what we must do, we must chant the Name. Whatever your situation may be, inside or outside, in one way or another you must keep God hidden in your heart and install Him in your heart. For God, the heart itself is the true dwelling.
When Draupadī was being dishonoured, she prayed to Kṛṣṇa in many ways. O Friend in distress! O Protector of the helpless! O Bṛndāvana-vihārī! O Gokula-sañcārī! She called out all sorts of Names. But Kṛṣṇa did not come. He did not shield her from her danger. At last she grew weary. She was worn out by this, by what Duryodhana was doing. Sinking down, ‘O Dweller in the heart!’ she cried, and at once God appeared and protected her. With this occasion in mind, at one time Draupadī asked Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa! When I prayed so many times, You did not come. But when I was sinking, You came at once. What is the reason for that! This is the right answer for all devotees, Draupadī! You called Me ‘Bṛndāvana-vihārī’, so I, who was near, have to go back to Bṛndāvana and come again.
