Passage 14

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Why build hospitals?’ they think. But some people have trust in doctors. Some people have trust in medicine. Some nurse or some doctor brings and gives just distilled water, and even when that is given they say that medicine cured them!! The trust in the medicine is itself the root cause of this. So men today have gone blind on this earth, without the two eyes called trust. Only when there is trust in something does that very trust bring them the cure. That very trust gives them Ānanda.

God's coming, His taking on Avatāras, is to draw human beings near in the body and through that nearness to make the principle of Prema grow; merely by conversation you can drive away some worry. Merely by nearness, joy can be given to them. Only when Divinity comes with humanness itself does humanness gain Ānanda.

That is why all the Avatāras have taken human form. ‘Daivaṃ mānuṣa rūpeṇa’: only when He comes in that human form can He be very close to human beings. No form but this one draws them near. So nearness grants sāyujya. Conversation removes worry. By darśan alone, sin is destroyed. Knowingly or unknowingly, we will have committed many sins. So man must always attain a state of three kinds.

Love of God, Fear of Sin, the Morality of Society

Love of God: if you have love of God, truly fear of sin arises in you. If love of God itself is lacking, fear of sin itself will not come to us. When fear of sin arises, we gain the morality of society. That is why a life of these three, love of God, fear of sin and the morality of society, is itself human life. When it is in this way, individual life, family life and social life, all three lives become meaningful.
