In plain words
Don't waste time. Time waste is life waste. Time is God. God is the embodiment of time. Kālāya namaḥ, kāla kālāya namaḥ, kālātītāya namaḥ, kāla svarūpāya namaḥ, kāla niyamitāya namaḥ: time has so many titles. When you misuse such sacred time in this way, it is very painful for Me.
My Life Itself Is My Message
My life is My message, I keep saying. But I do not waste even a single moment. You think, ‘Swami goes off the moment He has eaten. He sleeps.’ What sleep is, I do not know. I do not sleep. I take letters from everyone. And some that are needed I look at then and there. But in not a single task do I waste time. Not even a single moment do I waste. Talking with this one and that one, I make time sacred. And there is no fruit at all that I want.
‘There is nothing, Pārtha, that I must do in the three worlds, nothing unattained that I must attain; yet I go on in action’:
as the Bhagavad Gītā says, I do no work for My own sake. Search anywhere, from My feet to My head, and selfishness will not be found anywhere. I have no selfishness at all. Believe it or do not believe it. I always use all My time well, in living only for others. With Me it is always giving to others; taking is not with Me. One thing alone I do take. That is nothing but pure Prema. To those who have that Prema I will give anything, even My life. I am ready in that way. What work is, you do not understand at all. Only those who truly make that sacrifice know this yoga, this bhoga. Some think, ‘What does Swami keep doing? How does He live?’ Even when I lie down, I am working. But for the sake of others I have to lie down. Otherwise those who are beside Me will not lie down.
