Passage 14

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Only because there is current are all these things that rest on it, every one, created. So the whole world built up of what is seen, which rests on the support, all of it, is created.

To Forget the Support Is Itself Foolishness

Embodiments of Prema! First of all we must keep the support in mind. Without this root support, which is the support, we cannot create anything at all. But unfortunately today we forget the support. We think what rests on it is all-important. This itself is foolishness; this itself is Ajñāna, you see! So, in this world, many have known the truth of life; why does this man not listen? Why are you unable to listen, I wonder? So many teach, ‘This is impure’? ‘Don't go near it!’ they teach. But why does he go. Even though they told you, ‘This is Ajñāna, that is Prajñāna’, you did not listen, you mad fellow! They teach that the whole outlook of Prakṛti is the ocean of saṃsāra; you did not listen. O you mad fellow! Why do you not listen? What is the reason? But he does not listen only because he does not know that this is true. So we must recognise every single matter well. If a fine change is to come in the spiritual principle, good practices must come. We must put away bad practices. It is precisely through these bad practices that we change humanness into demon-nature and into beast-nature. So we are not beasts; we are not demons. We are divinity that has taken human births; and are we to lead such divinity onto so unholy a path? Narasimhan spoke. Our Sanjay Sahani spoke of śraddhā, ‘The one who has śraddhā gains Jñāna’, and called it faith. Śraddhā is not faith; faith is not śraddhā. Faith means belief. Śraddhā means a kind of zeal. So they have called śraddhā a kind of trust. Trust is belief. Śraddhā is interest. But now interest has gone; trust has gone. Through tamoguṇa we are merely becoming lower than a kind of beast. No, no: since we are human, we must teach others by a way of life that sets them an example.
