Passage 7

In plain words

They keep saying, "Sorrows, sorrows." How long can these sorrows last? It is not possible to be without sorrows all through life. 'Na sukhāt labhyate sukham': happiness does not come from happiness; happiness comes from hardships alone. To be born in such a sacred Bhārata, to be called Bhāratīyas, to be shaped as children of Mother Bhārata, and to go so very far from Bhāratīya culture is most lamentable. Bhāratīya culture is sacred. It is selfless. It is pure. They are not trying to recognise such a sacred Bhāratīya culture. The day boys and girls recognise Bhāratīya culture, that very day Bhārata will flourish in prosperity. A land without noble women and men can never be a prosperous land. It can never ever be a prosperous land. So noble women and men must arise in this land.

In the world there are wicked sons, but there are no wicked mothers

All these educational institutions were founded with this very aim. I made this saṅkalpa so that you might grow into noble women and men. Within a short time you will experience this sacred good fortune and rejoice in it. For everything, time is most important. Wait for the time. Carry out your duties. You should never forget your mothers. Today in the world there may be a wicked son, but there are no wicked mothers. Such sacred mothers have been giving you strength of so many kinds. Your food, your intelligence, your strength, your capacities: all of them are what your mother gave. I tell this very thing to the children now and then. Your blood, your money, your food, your head: all of it is your mother's influence. For such a sacrifice, how much gratitude are you showing your mothers? Where did this body come from? Who brought you up? Today people are forgetting gratitude. It is the mother herself who sacrificed even her life and helped you grow. So you must not forget your mother's Prema. One who forgets his mother's Prema is no person at all. So, first of all, you must love your mother.
