In plain words
Next you must love your father. Mother, father, guru, God: this is the order. The mother points to the father. The father points to the guru. The guru points to God. So everyone must regard the places of mother, father and guru as supreme.
Today has been regarded as the day of mothers. Calling Mahilā Day (Ladies Day) the holy festival day of women, they have from time immemorial worshipped the mother in Bhārata as the very form of God. Durgā, Sarasvatī: all of them are equal to the mother. Giving them different names, they contemplated the form of the mother itself. That is why we must put our faith in the form of Sarasvatī, rejoice in it and experience it. Recently, some time ago, some people said that even the name of Sarasvatī should not be uttered. It is great Ajñāna. It is great naivety. To put out of mind such a Sarasvatī, equal to the mother, is a most perverse act. Without remembering Sarasvatī we cannot recite a single letter. From ancient times the ṛṣis
"Sarasvatī, salutations to You, giver of boons, who take whatever form You will; I begin my studies; may there always be success for me. With wide eyes like lotus petals, of the hue of the lotus filament, dwelling ever in the lotus, O Devī, may Sarasvatī protect me."
praised the Goddess Sarasvatī thus. It is this very name of Sarasvatī that was given to our Bhārata.
How did Bhārata come to have the name of Sarasvatī? You may wonder how they liken Sarasvatī to Bhārata. Sarasvatī has five principal names. Bhāratī is one of them. The name Bhāratī is Sarasvatī's own. It is the name of Sarasvatī that was given to Bhārata, not the name of a king. People think the name of Bharata, the son of Duṣyanta, was given to this land. But then, before that, what was this land's name? If you take all of these, all of them are names that came from God. The name of Sarasvatī is merged in everything in the world. One name is 'the consort of Brahmā'. Brahmā is the Creator. We must put our faith in what concerns the Creator.
