In plain words
He said there is no heaven beyond the mother. They forget the ideal shown by such a Rāmacandra Himself. Today they remember 'Rāma, Rāma', but they forget the ideals. Rather than worshipping Rāma, when you conduct yourselves according to Rāma's command you become great devotees. You may forget anything else, but follow God's command. You must not give up the ideal God has shown. God's ideal itself is the ideal of your life. You must see that your mother's mind is never hurt at all. To give such sacred teachings, on this sacred auspicious day, in this sacred time, I decided to warn you, 'Tasmāt jāgrata.' Once upon a time there were two doorkeepers at the seat of Śaṅkarācārya. To catch the moment when these bad qualities rise up in man, when bad conduct comes, the two of them walked from there to here and from here to there, saying every minute, "Jāgrata, jāgrata." One day Śaṅkarācārya, 'There is so much property for the maṭha. So much money comes in; it can be developed as far as we like,' thinking so of worldly matters, he came near the door. At that moment, as he heard the doorkeepers on guard there saying, "Jāgrata, jāgrata," he changed his thoughts.
"Janma-duḥkhaṃ jarā-duḥkhaṃ jāyā-duḥkhaṃ punaḥ punaḥ antya-kāle mahā-duḥkhaṃ tasmāt jāgrata jāgrata"
he warned himself. The Veda has been proclaiming, "Uttiṣṭhata, jāgrata, prāpya varānni bodhita."
Make your mother happy, and Swami will be happy
Students!
All of you must constantly remember your mother's Prema. You must see that you do not hurt your mother in the least. You say, 'Swami's Prema is that of a thousand mothers.' You do not understand even one mother's Prema; how will you understand the Prema of a thousand mothers?
