Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

So they are forgetting God, the 1, who is as dear as life. That is why they are turning into zeros in life.

When You Turn Attachment to Your Body into Attachment to All, God and You Become One

Embodiments of Prema! Divinity is nowhere in some place outside. You yourself are God. You yourself are Brahman. You yourself are Mokṣa; you yourself are everything. Inquire well into that truth and recognise it. What inquiry are they making today? They are making no inquiry at all. Research goes on by the lakh. Examination, though, is nil. They spend crores on research. Examination gets a naya paisa. We are wasting the whole of our life on research alone. If you spend the whole of life only on studying, when will you ever put what you have studied to use? So you must dedicate your life to examining what has been researched. In any person whatever, there are changes in the body, but none in the Ātma. There is water in this tumbler. The Telugu man called it ‘nīru’. Our Vajpayee said two Telugu words, ‘Brothers and sisters.’ It was a great joy. ‘Nīru’, the Telugu people say. The Hindi people say ‘pānī’. The English say ‘water’. The Tamil people say ‘tannī’. The Sanskrit people say ‘vāri’. These names have changed, but there is no change in the water. In the same way, in divinity many forms change, many names change. But the Ātma principle is one. That one alone is in all. That itself is the conscience. It has come from consciousness. Any scientist, any disputant, any atheist: all of them must accept this. Atheists, theists, atheist-theists, people of every kind must agree to it. In the man of pleasure, the yogī, the man of attachment, the renunciant, in all of them there is oneness alone. But because man concentrates on his body, he goes on recognising only his own form.
