Passage 27

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

I wish for nothing. Whatever you ask for, I give. However many things you ask for, I give. What I wish for is only one thing. That itself is love. Give this Prema and take everything. You must work well in Education. Let the people of each country consult with the people of that same country. You need not wait for an order to come to you from some centre. If all of you work together in harmony, the centre will grow a great deal. When within your own countries you live like brothers, without differences, without envy, without quarrelling with one another, what more do I need than that? If you join Swami's mind, join Swami's resolve, and work, what greater Ānanda is there than this? Happiness is union with God. Work filled with this feeling for God. That is true happiness. If we say we are happy over some material things in the world, this is not true Ānanda. So whatever hatreds there may be among you, whatever differences of opinion there are, you must work together with one another in harmony. One must not form one group and another a different group. At such a time you think you have hurt only that one person. No, no. That hurt comes to Me. So if all are one, I rejoice. All of you, live with Prema, without hatred. Even if there is hatred, you must swallow it; you must not bring it out and try to hate the one in front of you. Out of your unity, after you leave here, if there are those who hate you, greet them, ‘what brother’. You must deal with them with Prema of that kind. This alone is true tapas. This is true dhyāna. This is true japa. This is true sādhana.

You must give Prema for Prema and take it. Give Prema and take Prema. If you grow in this way, the whole country will stay happy. In this age you can receive an Ānanda that was not there in any age. All of you must stay united, grow up like brothers, and proclaim the principle of Prema to this world. Saying ‘Brother, brother’, saying ‘Hello, hello’, saying ‘Sāīrām, Sāīrām’. But in the very saying it shows, if there is difference.
