In plain words
So God regards a test as a taste. You should not fear such tests in the least. In the thought of God you must offer up even your life. Only when you are like that will God strive in every way and keep on protecting you. At first Paul was a great enemy of Jesus. One day Jesus went into this Paul's dream and stood there smiling. He stroked Paul's back: 'Paul! What hardship have I given you, what wrong have I done you? What harm have I done you? You are abusing Me. The pains you suffer, the hardships you suffer, the sorrows you suffer are not given by Me. The fruits of your own karma bring them to you in this way. You are experiencing as reaction the action you did. That is how it is; it is not that I gave them,' and as He blessed him so kindly, his mind was changed. From then on he became the servant of Jesus, became Saint Paul and wrote a book. In this way He corrected the wicked and kept setting them on the right path. However many kinds of suffering they inflicted, the suffering was the body's alone; not in the least His. Taking up such ideals we must worship Jesus; worship without the ideals is of no use. Jesus spoke of just three ways, three only. I am the messenger of God: I must proclaim God's message to the world. I must give the message into man's heart. In this I am God's messenger. Next, son of God. I am the son. My Father is God. What is God's property? Satya, Prema, forbearance, Śānti: all these one must experience oneself. You must strive for Śānti. You must strive for Prema. You must strive for Dharma. You must practise these, experience them, and give them to others. Only then does it become fitting to call you son of God. After He had attained oneness in everything, He said, I and My Father are one. At that time Jesus had no sufferings, no hardships, no sorrow. He went on living in Ānanda all the time. He had become ready for everything. That is why, even when they struck Him on the cross, He stood smiling. Why, all these sufferings are the body's alone, not Mine.
