In plain words
All of you are embodiments of consciousness! All are embodiments of God. If you recognise the truth “I am the embodiment of God”, you will no longer enter on evil ways. Jñāna, once it comes, does not go again; ignorance, once it goes, does not come again. The principle of Brahman neither comes nor goes; it is itself the embodiment of consciousness. It has no coming and going. It is what abides for ever.
Knowledge from experience is the true power
Students! There is one important thing you must know. All the studies you pursue are only a fourth part of full education. Only when you acquire the remaining three parts as well will you be wholly educated. The first part is worldly study. It is found in books. But the remaining three parts are not found through books. They belong to practice. So reading is one part, and practising is three parts. Only when you acquire all four will you become fully educated. Merely by learning to read and write you cannot become educated. That belongs only to acquaintance with books. Along with acquaintance with books, you must also acquire knowledge from experience. Knowledge from experience is your true power. Only when you gain that power will your study be fulfilled; you will win a good name.
Today the new year has begun. In this new year, develop feelings that are new and sacred. Experience divine Ānanda yourselves, and share it with the people. All the good and bad of the year depend on your intentions and your actions. If your intentions and actions are good, the future too will surely be good. So correct yourselves. If each one corrects himself, everyone will prosper; the whole country will advance.
