Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That power of Prema by which this wheel of the earth keeps turning without an axle; that power of Prema by which all the stars stay fixed in the sky, never falling to the ground; that power of Prema by which, never falling upon this earth, the lord of the ocean has drawn in his legs; that power of Prema by which, across the fourteen worlds, the god of the wind waves his fans: that great power of Prema is the power of the Ātma, a power wondrous, endless, without a second; it fills the whole vessel of the cosmos; this whole great creation is filled with Prema.

Embodiments of Prema! God Himself is Prema; Prema is the very form of God. “Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtas sanātanaḥ,” the Bhagavad Gītā taught. Just as God, who is all Prema, makes His Prema manifest throughout the whole world, so every human being must spread his Prema through the world. Prema cannot be defined. Failing to recognise this principle of Prema, man pours out his love on the things of Prakṛti: wealth, gold, possessions, vehicles and the like.

Offering Is the Mark of Bhakti

God is beyond the guṇas. Prema too is beyond the guṇas. By binding that Prema, which is beyond the guṇas, to the guṇas, man wastes his birth. In this world of Prakṛti, speaking of the love of mother and child, the love of husband and wife, the love of brothers and the love of kin and friends, man uses the word ‘Prema’ for all of them.
