In plain words
What use is it to know all sorts of others without knowing yourself? You ask others, “Who are you?”, but you do not ask yourself, “Who am I?” When I say, “This is my handkerchief,” then the handkerchief is separate from me, is it not! In the same way, when you say ‘my body, my mind, my Buddhi’, all these are just as separate from you, are they not! Who, then, are you? You are the embodiment of Satya, the embodiment of Śānti, the embodiment of Prema, the embodiment of Dharma. All is you alone. Everything is in you alone.
Embodiments of Prema! Foster Prema. Drive hatred far away. Reduce your cravings. Set yourselves to sacrifice. The Ānanda that lies in sacrifice is found in nothing else. If the food eaten at one end is not let out at the other, the stomach goes bad. If the air breathed in is not let out again, the lungs go bad. In the same way, you must give up the wealth you have earned for the good of others. The system of education today increases wealth, friendship and might, but it does not increase virtue. Without virtue, what use is wealth, friendship, might, however much there is? All these come and go like passing clouds. You must increase virtue.
