In plain words

Only Service Done in the Feeling of the One Ātma Is True Service

Whomever you serve, you must hold the feeling that it is God Himself, the embodiment of the Ātma, whom you are serving. The limbs of the body are separate, one from another. Hands, eyes, nose, mouth: all these are limbs of the body. The body is a limb of society. Society is a limb of humanity. Humanity is a limb of Prakṛti. Prakṛti is a limb of the Paramātma. So you must not look at this vast Prakṛti and think it is other than God. ‘What is in everything is divinity alone’: you must know this truth. The bulbs, their colours and their wattages may differ, but the current in them is one and the same, is it not! In the same way the forms and names of individuals, and their feelings, may differ, but the principle of the Ātma in all is one. With such a feeling of the one Ātma you must take part in the service of society. Only then does it take shape as true service. You must not keep the sense of difference that those who serve are one thing and those who are served another. Only because of such a sense of difference do evil qualities like hatred and envy keep growing. The six inner enemies, lust, anger and the rest, arise from the head; the good qualities, compassion, Prema, forbearance and the like, arise from the heart. The head shows diversity; the heart shows forth unity. So the head has to do with pravṛtti, the heart with nivṛtti. You think, “I am a man,” do you not! Recognise the right meaning of the word ‘mānava’. Then there will be no room at all for differences any more. Who is meant by man? Not the body: the name ‘mānava’ belongs to the Ātma itself, the master of the five elements beginning with space. The ancient ṛṣis kept the five elements under their control and enjoyed peace and security. Only when he brings the five elements under his control can man shine as the embodiment of the Ātma.

The Four Levels in Humanness

There are four kinds of level in humanness. The first is Super Mind, the second Higher Mind. The third is Illumination Mind, the fourth Over Mind. Only when it reaches this level of Over Mind does humanness attain the state of perfection.
