“By merely putting on the ochre robe liberation is not an āmalaka fruit in the palm of the hand; by merely uttering a mantra with the mouth the sin you have committed does not scatter; by holding the Gītā in hand and shouting aloud merit is not heaped up in our home.”
Some swāmīs too have entered the wicked path and are spreading slander. And there is no need even to speak of the heads of the pīṭhas. We should not criticise anyone, but the time has come, so I am telling you. Do not hold any fear at all about this slander.
Those who give in to weakness cannot be devotees
Now in Bangalore too we are building a super speciality hospital at a cost of three hundred crore rupees. Is any leader entering such sacred work? No. On top of that, they sit about boasting. A disgrace! Some are stooping to slander out of jealousy. Those who out of jealousy obstruct the sacred works others do are nothing but demons, not men. Even if such demons spring up all over the world, Sai's vow will never change. The jealous are trying to lower Sai Baba's honour by slander. I have no desire to be honoured. But it goes on growing. Even if they spread it through this whole world in letters as big as our Bhārata, My honour will not lessen in the least. Seeing this slander, some devotees are giving in to weakness. They are not true devotees. Even after seeing so many of Sai's powers, why should anyone fear this silly cawing of crows? You need not take any account of what is written on walls, of the shouting from platforms, or of the filthy words written in the papers. We must go on spreading our Satya, our Dharma and our Prema.
