In plain words
Illness comes to anyone, to the poor or to millionaires. So here treatment is free for anyone at all; it costs the patients not a single naya paisa. Not only that: their meals too are given free. Our aim is to cure them without causing them any trouble and send them home in comfort. This is an institution that will last for ever. Some think it will not last long. To think so is a great mistake. Every institution Sai founds is lasting.
In this hospital, heart operations have been going on for the past three or four days. Most of the patients are poor. One is a Carpenter, another a Dhobi. In this way many poor people are being admitted to this hospital and having their illnesses cured. In this short time alone, 50 operations have been done. Those patients are very happy now. Those who see their faces feel great joy too. Our chief aim is to bring health and happiness to the sick. Today we are dedicating this hospital to the poor. Only when the poor are made happy am I happy. I am pouring out my whole life for the poor alone. In time to come, the most modern operations, such as heart and lung transplants, will also be performed in this hospital. The other day a washerman from Gulbarga had an operation in this hospital. “Swami! You who are God to us! By Your grace I have had my heart operation, and my illness is cured,” he said, overjoyed.
A crore they can talk of; not one do they do!
How many rich men there are in this world! But do any of them show the poor even a little kindness and compassion? “A crore they can talk of; not one do they do!” Is any rich man doing even one part in a thousand of the good works Sai is doing? Spending crores of rupees, we are bringing water to the villages; spending crores of rupees, we are giving education and medical care free.
