In plain words
So whatever you need, do not hesitate to ask. We must develop this hospital still further. Yesterday a liver specialist came: “Swami! I will stay here and do liver transplant operations,” he said. “My son! If you do it, would I say no? For good I am always ready. Do it by all means,” I told him.
In our hospitals the doctors work with a smile
Today the food we eat, the drinking water, the air we breathe, all have become polluted. Through polluted food and drink the heart and liver are damaged, and many diseases come. In the old days there were not so many diseases. That is why I have vowed to give people pure water as far as possible and protect their health. For children, education is most important. That is why I first started educational institutions for children. Since health too is essential, I set up medical institutions. After that I took up drinking water projects. In what way? Not by having a few small borewells sunk. Because the water from borewells has too much fluoride in it. That is why I spent crores of rupees, had water brought from flowing rivers and gave it to the people. I had it brought from the river Kṛṣṇā too. Wherever people suffer for want of water, we must provide water there. We need not give any great sums of money. It is enough to give a mouthful of fresh water to drink; they will be very happy and they will gain health. There are very many rich people in the country. But how many of them use their wealth in good works like this? When they go, they do not take even a handful of earth with them. If all who go took earth with them, even earth might have been put on ‘ration’ in Bhārata! You cannot avoid leaving behind all the money you earned. You leave behind your very body. When that is so, how then can the money you earned go with you? So you must put that money into good works. All the doctors who have joined our hospitals work in just that spirit of sacrifice. They all work smiling and smiling; no one puts on a ‘castor oil face’.
