In plain words

As a twig that meets the fire turns into fire...

Every man longs for Ānanda. When does Ānanda come? Man is made up of the annamaya, prāṇamaya, manomaya, vijñānamaya and ānandamaya kośas. The ānandamaya kośa lies only after the vijñānamaya kośa. Only when you nourish Vijñāna is Ānanda found. Live your life in Ānanda, and try to give Ānanda to others too. How great this Ānanda is, you will not know unless you experience it. Just as a twig too turns into fire when it meets the fire, when you come close to the principle of Swami's mind, that principle of mind enters you too, drives away the darkness called ignorance and makes your mind radiant; it makes Ānanda shine in you.
